For this project, I was approached by a client planning her wedding reception and in need of a beautifully crafted dinner and drink menu. Her vision was simple but elegant floral, minimalist, and refined.
Most importantly, she wanted everything to fit on one easy-to-read page that would suit every guest’s place setting.
Wedding menus often strike a balance between formality and personality. The client wanted it all:
• A visually calming layout
• Soft, modern floral accents
• Clearly organized sections for starters, mains, desserts, and beverages
• A premium feel, without looking cluttered even with a full-course meal and drink pairings
I started by sketching various layout structures that would support multiple text blocks without overwhelming the eye. I chose a neutral pastel palette inspired by the venue’s floral arrangements and incorporated a mix of serif and handwritten fonts to match the event’s romantic vibe.Key highlights:
• Custom floral accents layered behind the text for subtle elegance
• Soft ivory background for a print-friendly and luxurious look
• Single-page vertical layout (5x7” dimensions) for easy tabletop placement
• Strategic typography spacing to make long menu text readable and stylish
The final design was printed on textured cardstock, offering a tactile experience that matched the sophistication of the event. The bride was thrilled with how seamlessly the design complemented her table setup and how all her guests could easily follow the menu without needing to flip through pages.
Exactly what I wanted. Elegant, soft, and perfectly laid out. Thank you for making it so stress free!
