Tikal Structural Services is a local concrete finishing company owned by Amilcar Gonzalez. Based in Abbotsford, they specialize in high-quality structural and decorative concrete, from driveways to commercial slabs.
Amilcar wanted more than just a generic construction logo. With deep Guatemalan roots, he wanted his brand to reflect his heritage while still looking professional and clean enough to build trust with local contractors, builders, and homeowners.
We started by identifying what would resonate with his audience, people who care about reliability, craft, and long-lasting results. At the same time, we wanted to incorporate elements that honored Amilcar’s background.
Local positioning: Designed to look right at home on job site signs across Abbotsford, Langley, and the Fraser Valley.
Cultural inspiration: Drew from traditional Guatemalan Mayan pyramid architecture (like Tikal), symbolizing strength, precision, and deep roots.
Logo: Built around a stylized pyramid inspired by the ancient temples of Tikal in Guatemala. Sharp lines and sturdy geometry mirrored the precision of concrete finishing.
Colours: Used a rich red and vibrant yellow palette colours tied to Guatemalan textiles and tradition to make the brand stand out on trucks, shirts, and signage.
Business Cards: Created a bold, modern layout that featured the pyramid icon front and center, paired with clean typography for an upscale yet approachable look.
Instant Recognition: The logo’s unique cultural nods and bold color scheme made Tikal stand out among typical construction brands.
Professional Perception: Builders and general contractors commented on the clean, premium feel which helped secure more contract work.
