This project was all about contrast, balancing elegance and edge to create a minimalist yet bold identity for a salon looking to relaunch with confidence. The goal was to develop a brand that felt fresh, feminine, and striking, without falling into generic beauty clichés.
Start a project! This project started with a clear goal: create a salon brand that felt elegant and distinctive, without falling into the same patterns as every other beauty studio. The client wanted something soft yet strong, feminine but not cliché.
With a new location in Langley, she was ready to start fresh with an identity that turned heads and held meaning. We planned a minimalist yet expressive brand system using light pinks, bold greys, and intentional typography to reflect the salon’s values, care, precision, and confidence. The visual language needed to communicate trust and taste without overdoing it
We started with color theory, building a calming, high-contrast palette centered around blush tones, dark charcoal, and soft neutrals. This carried through the custom wordmark, logo mark, and iconography we designed to give the brand its own look.
For the website, we built a clean, responsive design that focused on large visuals, crisp layouts, and intuitive flow. Special attention was paid to how services, staff, and booking information were presented to ensure smooth navigation.
Print collateral included square-format business cards, each one unique to the stylist it represented, alongside a thoughtfully structured brochure. The brochure told the brand’s story, services, and philosophy without overwhelming the reader. Every page was clean, modern, and carefully spaced to reflect the calming atmosphere of the studio.
The new identity transformed how this Langley-based salon was perceived, online and in person. The visual overhaul brought consistency across all touchpoints, from web to print, and made the brand feel high-end, inviting, and professional.
The launch attracted attention from new customers almost immediately, and the brochure, in particular, became a favourite among first-time clients. The custom brand design allowed the salon to clearly communicate its values and personality with confidence.
“This was exactly the kind of brand I dreamed of but didn’t know how to ask for. It feels feminine, clean, and professional without looking like every other salon.”
Whether you’re just starting out or levelling up, the right design can change everything. Let’s talk about how to get there.
